*3.5* This book had sooo much promise! I read the blurb and was like oh, yeah, let's give it a go. Nevada and Yardley were super sweet to begin with. Could totally see them as a couple, feel the blush of young love and the qualms they had about him leaving for college. He would have gave it all up for her, but they had this right?

No, no they did not. One misunderstanding, yeah, it was a big one, but one misunderstanding led to the demise of their relationship. Where was the "You have to listen to me"? Or maybe even a text with a "hey, I need to talk to you"? instead of what happened? She gave up way too easy.

I've said it before, WHY do authors (this is a total pet peeve of mine) wait 10 years before the H/h see each other again? Some can do it right with 10 years but very few have. Drives me NUTS. (Total pet peeve lol)

Once they actually do talk everything happens way too fast, felt totally rushed. Needs drawn out, learn each other again. I mean come on it's been 10 years after all. The h needs to have a bit more, ok, a lot more back bone. Needs to get in his face some, should have stood up for herself. Should have probably done it 10 years ago but at least 8 years ago. I know the authors have reasons for their timelines but this one just didn't work for me. (See pet peeve above lol)

Will I read this author again? Yes, yes I will.

The Rebound eBook Winter Renshaw Reviews

If it weren't for the free copy of Cold Hearted, I would have awarded even less points. As too why I disliked Rebound - hmmm. I suppose Nevada's behavior following his less than mature and stellar reaction showcased a seriously selfish and bitter man. He was a hypocrite, saying the past was the past when it suited him, yet kept living there, trapped, by the way he refused to see there were two sides to what happened with Yardley. He. was. a. douche.

Then Yardley blows my sense of reason by letting him screw her, both in the literal and figurative sense. Nevada didn't deserve her. Yardley did not deserve his contempt, hatred, or his cruelty. However, I withdrew my sympathy for her once she allowed him to continue beating her down without hearing her side of what happened with Griff. I could not BELIEVE the inanity and ridiculousness of Yardley and Nevada's interactions. She should have enlisted the aid of someone he would have listened to, like his mother, to inform him of what really went down. As for Nevada? I wouldn't have accepted him back that easily (girl, have you no pride?!) especially since he gave her the worst insult by MARRYING another woman. It didn't matter that.he didn't love Estrella the same way he did Yardley. He betrayed HER by not listening to and hearing her side of the story, choosing instead to accept the pictures and word of a third party. He continued to betray what they used to have by being so inhumane and rude to her after he moved back home. I am sorry, this story was STUPID. I want it made clear that the star I gave this book was because I liked Cold Hearted, while I hated Rebound. The title didn't even suit its content! Apologies, Ms. Renshaw - I think you struck out with this one.
I happened to come across this book by chance. I’m so glad I grabbed a copy. This was probably one of the best books I’ve ever one-clicked.
Super addictive storyline. Amazing characters and an all around awesome vibe to this great book.
It isn’t all hearts and flowers though. There’s plenty of devastation, heart break and tears to be shed. Besides all of that there is one epic love story to be read.
Yardley and Nevada are a force to be reckoned with. Young and in love. High school sweethearts. When Nevada heads off to college, leaving Yardley behind to finish her senior year, they promise each other forever and always.
I would most definitely recommend this book. It has absolutely everything in it that I love.

My tummy is still pitching and rolling from all the emotions in the book, I don't think I've come to terms yet with everything that transpired in this story but I kind of feel like the "reason" was a bit anticlimactic and I think for me, when you have our emotions strung so tight, you need CLIMACTIC. I absolutely enjoyed this story and was swept up in everything that takes place, my heart and emotions were completely involved and I wanted more story after the big reveal, more dialogue between characters and just more follow through in general, maybe a longer ending to help sooth the raw nerves that this story exposed.
I thoroughly enjoyed this standalone, second-chance romance from one of my favorite writer, Winter Renshaw.

Yardley Dove Devereaux, the new girl in town, caught the attention of Nevada Kane, a basketball star on the rise; he was mesmerized by her beauty. What started as friendship slowly developed into deeper one. As lovers they became inseparable. But an offer came to Nevada to play basketball to another state, Yardley knew this day will come, and she won’t hinder this opportunity for Nevada to be a famous athlete. Promises made to each other until Yardley broke it. Yardley wanted to explain her side, but Nevada won’t hear any of it. It took ten years for their path to cross again when Nevada went back to town with two small daughters in tow. As much as possible both, Yardley and Nevada, try to ignore each other. But it’s obvious they still have some lingering feelings for each other. Will they be able to forgive and forget what happened years ago and move on?

This book is like a roller coaster ride of emotion for me, one moment I’d like to shake Yardley for what she’s did (breaking her promise to Nevada) and then when I knew the reason behind it, I’m on her side. Winter definitely wrote another heartfelt story of love, lost and found. Her written words just flow eloquently and characters are well defined. The plot of the story will entice you to never stop reading until the last page. It was a great read for me. Highly recommended!
