My Review:
Whoa! This book was everything that caused me to fall in love with Lauren Layne's writing in the first place. It was smart and funny and sassy and emotional and had so many moments where my heart just twisted in agony for the main characters. In other words, I LOVED IT!!

Omg, it was so good.

Four years ago, Sabrina and Matt hooked up. From all reports, it was sizzlingly good, but something happened that has caused them to be at one another's throats ever since. Now, they have a kind of enemies with benefits kind of relationship. They hook up occasionally, but absolutely hate one another. They can't be in the same room together for five minutes before things between them devolves into world war 3.

Can we say sexual chemistry? Oh yeah, it's simmering big time between these two.

But after a raunchy weekend long bachelor party in Vegas where a reporter followed Matt all night (which he didn't' know), now his career as the Wall Street wonder-kid is in jeopardy. If he can't repair his reputation, he's out of his extremely lucrative, well-earned job. That's where Sabrina comes in. She's a professional fixer for the NYC social set. She knows everyone and how to play the social game. Matt needs her to help him and he's willing to do anything to get her to agree, even spend all his time with her acting as his girlfriend.

And of course, like a good romance couple does when they are battling unrequited feelings for one another, things slowly begin to change and evolve between the two of them.

It was so, so good. And so well written. I loved both Matt and Sabrina, but watching them on the page together was pure magic and eventually romance. I fell in love with this book and really, really didn't want the story to end because I loved them so much.

It's been a bit since I've fallen so hard for a book, but this one was amazing. It will definitely be on my top ten list for the year.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest and voluntary review, but I immediately got online and bought a print copy for my keeper shelf. This book is already scheduled for a reread. I loved it.

The number one thing I love about this series is that I was hooked after reading the first few pages. Lauren Layne has a way with writing friends to lovers romance, but be warned…these two are no friends….they are FRENEMIES. We were previously introduced to Sabrina and Matt in book one, but each of these books can be read alone.

“I envy that he’s the one she runs to. That he’s the one who gets to look out for her. Protect her.”

Matt Cannon had just come back from Vegas when he was called to the big shots office. Little did he know he would be leaving with an ultimatum. Get a girlfriend or lose your job. To make sure he didn’t pick a girl with Cinderella complex, he chose Sabrina, the one girl who hated his guts. Ever since Matt laid eyes on Sabrina he has thought that she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. He was more afraid of a girl falling in love with him, but what about Matt falling in love.

“Worried you’d be happy with someone other than me. Worries that I could lose you, even before I really had you”

Love Sabrina! A girl who loves caffeine and carbs, but hates being lied to. After meeting with a client and informing them that they will no longer be able to work together…liar liar pants on fire. She picks up her daily read the Wall Street Journal and looky looky who is on page two….Matt Cannon in all his damn good looking glory being straddled by a woman in Vegas. Sabrina and Matt had a enemies with benefits going on for the last 4 years. Whenever they were around each other there is constant arguing or they can’t keep their hands off one another.

I could feel the angst and the growing heart pains these two went through. Even though this wasn’t an overly emotional read, it hit a lot at my fragile book heart. I too come from a broken family. Definitely not as crazy as either of the characters, but I have the same doubts they have with relationships and the same fears. Not to get too sidetracked, I loved this book and will definitely be adding it to my home library. I suggest you read the all three, once Kennedy’s book comes out and you will see the loyalty and tight family bond they all have with one another.
